Domestic Violence Awareness Month Kick-Off
October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. A time for us to come together, learn more about domestic violence, support survivors, and help create communities where everyone can feel safe.
Throughout October, Safe Place will be hosting various events focused on raising awareness about domestic violence and its impact on individuals, families, and communities.

But awareness doesn’t have to stop at our events. We’re inviting everyone to find meaningful ways to raise awareness in their own ways. Whether that means having a conversation, sharing resources, making a donation, educating others, or simply learning more.
Together, we can help break the silence, support survivors, and build a safer, more vigilant community.
Golf Raffle Begins
Safe Place of Eastern South Dakota will be selling raffle tickets starting on October 1st through December 4th. Enter to win a 2026 SDLGC80 Golf Cart, with the winner announced at Not a Silent Night. Tickets available at the Safe Place Facility or from a Board Member.

Bartscher Brothers Construction Poker Run
Bartscher Brothers Construction LLC is hosting a Poker Run Saturday, September 19, 2026 to start an end at The Depot. The route is posted below. All proceeds benefit Safe Place of Eastern South Dakota.
REGISTRATION: 11:00 AM | KICKSTANDS UP: 12:00 PM (NOON)
LOCATION: The Depot in Mitchell, SD (Start & Finish)
5:00 PM: Hands drawn, cash prizes to top 3 hands.
6:30 PM Sharp: Silent Auction & Door Prizes, then tallying & prize announcements. Hands are $10 or 3-$25

Participants are welcome to go ether direction, we just ask that everyone return by 5:00pm to the Depot.
